We worked with Positive Purchasing by probing them about the consultancy services and the training courses the company offers. We wanted to understand what procurement actually is and how the courses the company offers can improve both an individual’s and a team’s procurement and negotiation skills.
Further, the CEO is an established business author, having published a trilogy of books focusing on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), category management and negotiation. This provided us with an opportunity to position Jonathan as a thought-leader and industry expert.
Garlandpr’s approach was to focus on Jonathan O’Brien by either raising awareness of his books or by pitching him to provide advice or hints and tips on aspects of negotiation and procurement to various media outlets. We also pitched in articles written by Jonathan to key trade titles both on and off-line.
To further cement Jonathan’s thought-leadership credentials, we actively searched for column opportunities and secured a regular column with businessadvice.co.uk, an advice and information website which targets SMEs.The column has been running since April 2016 and, over the course of the year, has consistently delivered a sound number of referrals to the Positive Purchasing website.
For Jonathan’s books, we work closely with the publishers to provide them with original content for the website and run dedicated social media campaigns in the run up to each book publication date to drive sales.
To date, we have placed 23 articles or pieces of tailored advice on 35 different on and offline media titles, reaching a potential audience of 227,393,326. Key highlights include tailored negotiation advice from Jonathan appearing on the Daily Mail website and in Fabulous magazine. Articles have also appeared on a range of websites including The London Economic and businessadvice.co.uk, in leading industry titles such as Procurement Leaders Magazine and Supply Management Magazine. We know that PR has played a big part in supporting company growth by building brand visibility and increased awareness of organisational capability across the globe.
