Our Devon-based pro bono client is officially an award-winning charity. We’re not talking about any old award either as the charity is now the holder of a Sun Millies award!
Last month the VWD team descended on London’s Banqueting House to attend the tenth annual Millies Awards, hosted by The Sun. The awards are designed to honour and celebrate the work of the UK Armed Forces both at home and abroad, in peace time and times of combat.
The charity was nominated for the Support for The Armed Forces category and were up against some stiff competition. The team were stunned, humbled and, quite frankly, speechless when it was revealed they had won.
As Craig MacLellan, founder of the charity said:
“We can’t tell you how much this means to every one of us at VWD. It means everything. All the hard work that each person puts into working with and supporting the charity is now recognised by this award. Our Veterans, staff and volunteers, trainers and puppy socialisers, fundraisers and supporters are all vital parts of what makes VWD so special.
“So from us to you all, one big massive thank you.”
We’re not ashamed to admit that a few tears were shed by us back at garlandpr hq in Edinburgh when we found out. We’re very proud to work with this fantastic charity and they are very worthy recipients of this award.
Here’s to many more!
